Decision Time!

I never questioned that when I finally got my built in book cases that they would be white. There are so many gorgeous examples in the white (which I have posted on of course) but after seeing all these gorgeous black ones I'm really questioning my decision. I particularly like the examples of picture 1 and 2 with the wall sconce lights on the front - adorable. I will probably still go white but until the paint is bought I can always change my mind - its my perogative after all. Tracey xx

    What a decision to have to make! These black bookshelves look absolutely delicious. And those sconces are unbelievable (bet we can't get them here in Australia!?!).

    Oh dear gorgeous girls, I'm going to put my hand up & go against the tide here. I'd go with the white & you know what, I don't know why! That's why I'd fail Basic Interior Design 101 miserably.

    that is a hard decision indeed! i love both white & black shelves, all depending on the room i suppose, make sure you share some photos of the new shelves when it's done! ;)

    I have seen the top picture before and agree with you - it's so lovely with the black bookcase and the lamps in red! Good luck with your decision! I have also been inspired by white bookcases on my blog which you are very welcome to visit!

    It's a hard decision but you can do it. They look great in all colors just depends on your setting.

    The best part about a decision like this is, you can't go wrong. No matter which you choose, you're not going to look at your shelving and wish you had gone the other way. You are going to look at your shelving and LOVE it!!

    Do you have a lot of natural light coming in? I guess that would influence my decision.

    We are contemplating doing built-in's in what we call our library/dining room. Now I need to go find your white inspiration pics!

    White is a classic, but I went with Charleston green. It looks black from a distance, but is a bit softer. I've gotten quite a few compliments on them - or rather for my husband's skill in building them from my design.
