Doing Hollywood In Style!

I have a list of gorgeous hotels around the world that I would love to stay in if I ever happen to travel to that destination! The Chateau Mamont is my pick for Hollywood. Such an amazing history with so many big name stars choosing to stay here since it opened in the 1930's.

Fabulous in Toorak!

While searching Realestate.com yesterday, I came across this house in Toorak which I fell in love with. This style of house is so rare in Australia and even rarer is the gorgeously styled interiors - looks like its out of a magazine.

I just love the spire at the front and how its covered in foliage!

Such a simple living area but I really love the styling! The french doors are my favourite combination of black on one side and white on the other - gorgeous!

And the outdoor area is like 'The Secret Garden'. How adorable!

Looking Ahead...

Is anyone else struggling to get back into things after holidays? Yesterday was our first day back at work and after an exceptional coffee we, surprisingly, had a very productive day. I have so many plans for this year, the first of which is decluttering my own house. Holidays have been a great opportunity for this and many cupboards have been cleared out. This is such a great way to start the year as it stops you from getting trapped into a particular style - sometimes we have to acknowledge that we have moved on from something and make room for a new passion.

The following pictures are my inspiration for all the projects I want to achieve in my home over the next twelve months (OK probably more like 5 years but I'm optimistic):

I want to create a stunning small office space that I can feel inspired in!

I want a couple of built in book shelves downstairs so we can finally unpack our boxes of books!

I want to update our staircase with new sisal carpet and a gorgeous rail such as this - my husband was a little shocked when I showed him this!

Happy Christmas To All

We are signing off now for our Christmas break. But first, We would like to say some thankyou's and leave you with some images of my Christmas trees and a few decorations we love.

Tracey and I would like to thank everyone for all their kind words and for helping us get our blog off the ground. A special big thanks to Anna from Absolutely Beautiful Things and A-M for initially recognising us. Feeling Glamourous!

Is this the most glamourous photo ever? This looks like the perfect place to me and Grace Kelly is wearing the perfect dress! Every year I think I will go out and buy a dress for Christmas day but never find it - this would be perfect (not that it would look like this on me but I can dream). I found this photo via a blog while blog hopping call A Journey to our Daughter - about adopting a baby girl from China - lovely read!

Long weekend before Christmas

We just came back from a wonderful long weekend at one of my favorite beachside destinations - Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. It was perfect although a little hot on Saturday. We took my husbands staff away for a night and out for dinner for the second year running. It's a great way to unwind and time to take life a little less seriously. My family arrived yesterday to celebrate our parents 40th wedding anniversary. There were 19 of us with all the kids! Quite big!

Favourite Decorations!!!

Just thought I would share a few of my favourite Christmas decorations this year!

I bought quite a few old 'Shiny Brights' from Ebay which I just love. They look great on a tree but I like to display them in bowls around the house as well - they add a bit of colour!

These are my favourite mercury glass decorations - I have quite a few of these but you can never have too many!

My all time favourite decoration which my whole tree is decorated around (colour wise) are my Greengate pink, red and white glass flowers!

I can't go past the plain mercury glass in different shapes displayed in an old pewter bowl! Hope you are all having a great week - I know we have been slack with our blogging but its so busy leading up to Christmas! Will try and do better! Tracey x
