Best Wishes for Thanksgiving!

via Better Homes & Gardens
Happy Thanksgiving to all! I have to say that this is one tradition that I think we should embrace in Australia but for now I will live vicariously through all the beautiful images from US magazines and blogs! I may make something with pumpkin in it for dinner tonight and be extra thankful in my prayers to celebrate thanksgiving in a small way! Tracey x

Monochromatic Glamour!

via Ruthie Sommers website

via Domino Magazine
I just love Ruthie Sommers style! Both these pictures show a fairly neutral palate of black and cream colouring with touches of silver which just look sensational together. Classically understated glamour! I would love to have enough light to be able to paint a room black like in the first pic but I don't know if I would have the courage! Tracey x

Adding Interest...

via Traditional Home
When I stumbled across this room on the Traditional Home website, it really stood out as a calm, beautiful use of space. The gray/blue colouring in the wallpaper with the mirror piece against it was just so glamourous yet simple at the same time. Hope you all had a good weekend. I have to say Sydney was freezing and rainy so there wasn't much to do but shop - poor me! Tracey x

Tinsel and Feather Trees!

Here are some pictures of my gorgeous sister-in-law's pink feather tree! How adorable is this tree? I love that I get to enjoy it at her house during the festive season - my favourite decorations are the acorns and pinecones! Love it!
These are some pictures from a couple of years back (in my old house) of my tinsel tree. I just love this tree as it shows off the decorations so well. I always decorate it with lots of colourful decorations and of course my birds!

I like to have a few Christmas trees around the house to display a few different looks which is why these smaller trees are so fabulous and versatile... they don't have to take over the room but still make it feel festive! Tracey x

Another Porchlight Project

The following photos are of a lovely home we have just completed styling for the market here in beautiful Brisbane.

Our signature velvet bedhead is set as a lovely background for the ever stunning Rubie Green cushion! The mirrored bedsides add a touch of glamour!

This is the formal living area which is really beautiful with the white plantation shutters and the built in bookcase.

A nice little feature for the kitchen!

Main bedroom features a gorgeous velvet cushion with birds all over!
(my husband thought it was tropical fish!)
Family room. Neutral tones with a touch of colour with our stunning Mandalay print cushions.

All the furntiure and cushions you see are available through Porchlight Interiors.

We are constantly sourcing new vintage pieces to add to our collections. Really loving bamboo and cane pieces right now!

We had so much fun doing this project and working with our lovely client. We get to meet so many lovely people in our business.

Thanks - Hayley

In the Black!

I'm slightly obsessed with black kitchens at the moment so I thought I would do a post on some of my favourites that I have saved over the year! Enjoy!

This is definately one of my favourites from a home in St Barts which was published in Living Etc magazine! I however saved it from Brown Button's gorgeous blog!

This kitchen is by John Jacob Zwiegelaar in South Africa! So beautiful!

This is my most recent find from Heidi Claire's fabulous blog - love the floor!

I think my obsession started with Gwynth Paltrow's kitchen (can't remember where I saved it from)

Doesn't it show off the white dinnerware so well?

Another angle of Gwynth's! Yum!

I'll finish with this Christmassy cabinet via Country Living magazine. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Tracey x

Feeling Festive...

Trying desparately to get into the Christmas spirit before Friday night, when I have promised the boys that we can put the Christams tree up! I love the simplicity of these photos from Notebook magazine.

I always love a tree decorated with flowers - I just have to decide on a colour! Tracey x

Complete Happiness!

via Porchlight Interiors

While recently searching in one of our favourite second hand shops we came across these timber drawers with faux bamboo trim. It was such an exciting find, we couldn't wait to get them home and turn them into the beautiful piece they were intended to be. After much discussion, it was decided that yellow would be the chosen colour and we couldn't have been happier with the end result. They are currently in a home that we have just finished styling and I'm missing them already. I have to stop getting attached to furniture!

Time for a Cup of Tea!!

Via House Beautiful
After a busy week, we spent the day at our kids swimming carnival (in the scorching heat I might add). I would do anything to sit out on the deck and have a cup of tea but alas I have two weeks worth of housework to catch up on. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Tracey x

I've been trying to decide on dining room chairs for ages - these Tolix chairs are one of the favourites and so practical for the boys (I don't think they could wreck them). For some reason I find it difficult to make these decisions for my own home - its so much easier to decide for other people! It's to go with a white French table - opinions please!!!

Melbourne Cup Madness!

from Time Life via Habitually Chic
Well we were too busy to stop and watch the Melbourne Cup today but when I found this gorgeous photo on Habitually Chic, I thought we should recognise this great Australian tradition. Hope you backed the winner! Tracey x

Soaking in Luxury!

Nate Berkus Bathroom
Another busy week ahead! Would love to have a bath like this to soak in at the end of the day - nothing like a bit of glamour in the bathroom. The wall sconces and chandelier really make this bathroom something special! Hope you all had a great weekend and are excited about the week ahead. Tracey x
