Keeping It Simple!

Just thought I would share some images of what is inspiring me lately! All of the following rooms are from an appartment in NYC and are the work of the talented Piet Boon.
I just adore this simple understated style - you can see the quality in all the fixtures and furnishings. The black doors are a favourite with me.

Perfection!

I can't go past white slipcover lounges - maybe because they are so impractical for a mother of 3 boys!

What a fabulous idea to have these drawers under the window with the seating cushions in such a gorgeous blue.

White bed linen always looks so fresh and inviting!

So perfectly uncluttered and such a gorgeous blue for bathroom accessories. Hope these images inspire you all as much as they do me. Enjoy the rest of your week. Tracey xx

Oh my.. if I could guarantee my doors would look that good, I would paint them black too. They almost look like a matt two pak, they are so perfect. I just love all the white. What is it with mothers of boys, why do we love white so much!!... and the powder blue in the bathroom... you have me scheming for blue now! A-M xx

I love dark doors. I recently painted all the doors in our hallway a dark chocolate brown. If you'd like to see how they came out, I posted pics here:

It was easy to do -- I just used a brush to get into the grooves around the panels and a foam roller for all the flat parts. Three coats in a satin finish latex paint, and voila!! :-)

I love the light fixtures in the first picture, and the hits of soft blue in the bedroom & bathroom :-)

Hi Tracey,
I'm finding myself drawn toward white interiors more and more these days - so fresh & crisp yet inviting, particularly when combined with texture and warm wood (that's my fave white look - love that dining room you've shared!). But like you, I wonder about the practicality!!

So Tracey... Kelly and I are participating in a "6 Things about Me" game. We've writen about ourselves, and now it's time for you - we hope! - to do the same.

We're avid readers of your blog and we'd like to learn more about you. You've been TAGGED!!!

Please wirte 6 interesting things about yourself, tag 6 more people, and then let them know they have been tagged.

Let's keep this circle going!

How good is this! Yes, I now am totally in love with the touch of blue in the bathroom, but MOTH & I have argued constantly over that colour. Mr. Expert reckons its a cold colour, without any warmth, so I'm banned from using it. Bah humbug to him I say! I'll just have to hypnotize him in his sleep, so he'll love it as much as I do.

Hi again,

A few months ago you did a post on a charcoal/black lounge (I think!) that has yellow accents, cowhide rug and black wall mounted TV with doors either side. Just wondering if you could email me the link to that post again because I loved it and am deciding on new lounges at the moment.

Hope that's ok!
