Viceroy Hotel

My husband & I have been planning a family trip to the US of A for some time and I have been looking for accomodation when I came across the very lovely Viceroy in Santa Monica, designed by the very talented Kelly Wearstler
I absolutely love Hollywood Regency style. The Ivy in Sydney is very similar to the Viceroy with it's colour and style.
I think I will just have to go there for dinner! Just thought some of you may have been there and could share some stories of your experience.

Love the green!

Yes Judy, I think I can only dream about it.
A little out of my price range I would say Linda.
You will love the Ivy Vicki!

KW did a wonderful job with the Viceroy.
We live in Santa Monica not very far from the hotel.
Given my hectic life with three kids, hubby, and work I have only been there once for dinner. It was quite a treat! Please let me know when you come to visit. It would be so much fun to meet in person!

I love this hotel and Santa Monica! The Viceroy has, for me a fresh perspective as hotels go, nothing is as one expects it, everything is moving and old once again at the same time. Great balance of art and function. It is like waking up in a museum to old Hollywood. Bring your glam dresses and shoes...

I'm happy to do a 'Reccie' for you - beleive me it wouldn't be any trouble at all! Let me know when I can expect the ticket & my expenses cheque!

I've had a coffee at a place called Viceroy Cafe in Adelaide - it was OK - does that count?

My sister stayed there the night before and after her wedding - (their honeymoon was a month later It is fabulous. The only minor thing I noticed though is that the hallways were really dark - not much lighting. I think you'd get the experience having dinner there and hanging out in the lounge. Santa Monica is my favorite part when visiting LA.

I really like the design of the carpet in the first picture. And the overall glam look of all the rooms really appeals to me -- love those tufted sofas!!

Enjoy your trip to the US, wherever you decide to stay :-)

All the photos you've shared from the Viceroy are stunning, but I have to say I'm blown away by the first pic with the green sofa and that fantabulous rug! Talk about a hit of wonderful colour in a neutral setting!

Very swish indeed. I would have to bribe my kids to be on their best behaviour before taking them there!
We have just posted on where we blog and have passed the challenge on to you...

I also adore hollywood regency style!! What a great spread :) I think having dinner there is a lovely idea in lieu of the prices of actually staying there. If they had afternoon tea, that would be lovely too. Not sure if they do.

Cheers,
