I'm currently working on a home with a very high ceiling which is gorgeous but can feel a little cold if not furnished well. Looking through my files, this room by Tom Scheerer stood out to inspire me. There is nothing cold and sterile about this gorgeous room!
Thanks for all the lovely comments from the previous post...much appreciated! Tracey xx

Oh Tracey, that chandelier is fabulous and it certainly makes a statement. Perfect size for that room too. What a lovely, inspiring picture!
we paid to have higher ceilings in our new home build, but they're nothing like that room!!! I wish!
Same thing works in beautiful landscapes.
Choose a trinity of colors.
Never realized it works in interiors too, until I saw the pic you chose.

What a perfect room! If I had to choose one thing for each of the houses I have lived in, it would be high ceilings for all of them... I think it gives such a light airy feel..

That image is beautiful!!!
In our last home we had 14' ceilings, not something I want to go back to anytime soon, it was a decorating challenge to say the least.
I do hope that you post images of the clients room once finished. Have a wonderful day!!
I also have a huge two-story living room and it is tough. Just had floor-to-ceiling drapes installed and it made a HUGE difference. This room though is perfect though -- love the huge chandelier.
Love this room...I am not a huge fan of extra high ceilings...but love the feel that this room (with extra high ceiling) gives off!!
the chandelier works well to make it seem cosier don't you think, love your new wallpaper, cheers Katherine
I love high ceilings. Probably because I'm only 5ft. tall. Go figure. Anyway we just built a new home and I have a mix 14ft. in the living room, 12ft. in the kitchen/family room, and dining room and 10ft. in other spaces. Sounds confusing but we incorporated large old wood beams and its anything but uncomfortable. Actually warm and inviting. Love your inspiration pic. I will save it as well.
We had 18 footers in our old house & I miss them terribly!
Millie ^_^
